![]() ![]() A couple of days go, I came across an ad for a sewing machine, with decor like my Wertheims, but it carried the same badge as the one machine that surprised me. I was very surprised to find the same arrangement on another machine that I recently bought, which had a label from another manufacturer. One of the special details on Askaroff's Wertheim, and on my machines, is the location of the bobbin winder mechanism, which is attached to the belt cover. ![]() The known machines from different sources, that are definitely identified as Wertheim by labels on the machines, have some distinct details, that my machines does not have. Our australian member Lee told us that it was not a Wertheim, and I mentioned that I had made some notes that made me doubt the identity of the machine. Tammy recently bought a machine, that I identified as Wertheim, it has the same decor as my machines. By chance, I came across 2 other similar machines, also extremely low priced, so now I have 3 identical Wertheims, not yet restored. I would guess a lot of people have done the same. The first Wertheim I bought, at a very low price, I happily identified as a Wertheim, based on Alex Askaroff's Wertheim Superba at his site.
